When May is about to enter, we get all giddy because one of our most favorite celebrations is about to start: it’s Cinco de Mayo, and y’all know what that means! Tequila shots and overflowing margaritas!

But if you’re hosting a Cinco de Mayo party at your place, that doesn’t mean only your guests get all the fun. Our solution? Make-ahead frozen margaritas! The process for making almost every flavor you have in mind is just about the same. Blend, put it in a freezer-safe container or pitcher, pop it in your freezer the day before, and that’s it! You’re now prepared for another epic May 5th celebration with your friends and loved ones.

Here are some of our favorite frozen margarita recipes you can try and make in batches so you won’t ever have to worry about being ‘the bartender’ the whole celebration:

Classic Lime Margarita

  • 4 1/2 cups water

  • 1 1/2 cups tequila

  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen limeade

  • 1/2 cup triple sec (orange-flavored liqueur)

  • 1 whole lime, cut into 6 wedges

Mix the water, tequila, limeade, and orange liqueur in a freezer-proof container with a lid; stir. Cover and store in the freezer until it reaches a slush-like consistency, about 24 hours. Serve in glasses garnished with lime wedges.

The Ultimate Frozen Strawberry Margarita

  • 6 fluid ounces tequila

  • 2 fluid ounces triple sec

  • 8 ounces frozen sliced strawberries in syrup (or you can make your own simple syrup)

  • 4 fluid ounces frozen limeade concentrate

Fill a blender with ice and crush. Pour in the tequila and triple sec. Add the strawberries and limeade. Blend for 30 seconds or until smooth. Pour into your freezer-safe jars and pop inside your fridge the day before your party. Serve in margarita glasses with the rims dipped in powdered sugar.

Playful Apple Margarita

  • 1 cup of ice

  • 1 ounce tequila

  • 1 ounce apple liqueur

  • 1 ounce apple juice

  • 1/2 ounce sour mix

  • Garnish: green apple wedge

  • Garnish: cinnamon sugar (for rim)

Combine the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the drink into mason jars with lids. Freeze overnight. Poke with a fork before serving to create a slush-like consistency. Garnish with a green apple wedge. Serve and enjoy!
