Beef, Asparagus & Mushroom Stir -Fry
(with a Secret 3-Ingredient Sauce)

What You’ll Need:

  • 1lb Top Sirloin Steak (room temp, sliced thinly)

  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • ¾ lb asparagus, trimmed of rough ends

  • ½ lb fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced

  • 1 yellow/red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 tsp grated ginger

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • Olive Oil

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Roasted Sesame Seeds

What You’ll Do:

  1. For the Secret 3-Ingredient Sauce: Why is it a secret? Because it’s totally easy! Just mix 3 tbsps. of any original BBQ sauce, 3 tbsps. classic maple syrup, and 2 tbsps. of low-sodium Asian soy sauce in a small bowl. Set aside.

  2. Heat the fry pan  over high heat and add 1 Tbsp oil. When oil is hot, add beef and saute undisturbed for 2-3 mins. Stir and saute another 2 min or until nearly cooked through. Season lightly with salt and pepper, add ginger and garlic and saute for another 30 sec-1 min.

  3. Take the cooked beef and put aside to a plate.  Put a tablespoon of oil on to the pan and saute the mushrooms and asparagus. Season lightly with S&P.

  4. Put the mushrooms and asparagus beside the cooked sirloin. Saute your onions and bell peppers until caramelized and soft. Then drizzle some of the secret sauce over.

  5. Lower the heat of the pan. Add the garlic, ginger, then the cooked beef into the pan. Put more of the secret sauce to the beef and veggies until they’re all coated well and the sauce isn’t as liquid anymore.

  6. Plate beside the cooked mushrooms and asparagus. Drizzle more of the secret sauce to the whole plate and top with sesame seeds. Enjoy as is or eat with steamed white rice.



Additional Notes:

If you’re not cutting down on your sugar and you like the dish to be a bit more on the sweet side, you may also use a sweet BBQ sauce instead of the original BBQ. And if top sirloin isn’t available, you may also use Tenderloin or Pork Strip Loin.

DIY Vegan Italian Herb Spice Mix

  • 2 tbsp. Dried Oregano

  • 2 tbsp. Dried Basil

  • 1 tbsp. Dried Parsley

  • 1 tsp. Dried Thyme

  • 1 tsp. Dried Ground Sage

  • ¼ tsp. Crushed Dried Bay Leaves

  • 1 tsp. Garlic Powder

  • ½ tsp. Onion Granules

As for the kitchen tools, all you’ll need is a small mixing bowl, a spoon, a funnel (if you want to make it easy transferring the spice mix to its container), and of course, the California Home Goods Clear Glass Spice Jars.


  1. Measure each ingredient carefully.

  2. Put all of the ingredients in the bowl. Mix thoroughly with a spoon.

  3. Once you see all the ingredients completely mixed, transfer them to the spice jars. You may use a small spoon to do the trick, but if you have a funnel, you may use it to save time in transferring.

    1. Preheat oven to 350°.  Butter 3 ramekins. Dust with a bit of cocoa powder and shake out the excess.

    2. Put butter and chocolate chips in the mixing bowl. Place the bowl inside the microwave and heat for 30 minutes under medium power. Stir to check if butter and chocolate have completely melted. If not, heat again in the microwave.

    3. With your electric mixer on medium speed, mix the brown and white sugar, egg/s, salt, and vanilla until completely combined. Mix in butter & chocolate mixture.

    4. Mix in the remaining cocoa powder by hand.

    5. Divide the batter equally and spread in to the ramekins.

    6. Bake for 20-25 minutes (while constantly checking your preferred doneness)

    Creamy Classic Chicken Marsala

    When we hear the classic Italian-American dish Chicken Marsala, we think it’s delicious, fancy, but something only restaurant chefs can do. Truth is, we can always pull-off dishes like this at home - without the stress, without complicated ingredients, and most of all, without worrying you’d be facing lots of pans to wash after eating! With the CeramiTech Non-Stick Fry Pan from California Home Goods, making your own version of this creamy chicken dish is a breeze!


    • 1 cup all purpose flour

    • 1 tsp. rock/kosher salt

    • 4-5 pcs. Boneless chicken breasts

    • 3 tbsp Olive Oil

    • 4 tbsp Butter

    • 4 oz Cremini mushrooms, quartered

    • 3 cloves garlic, minced

    • ¾ cup dry Marsala wine

    • ¾ low-sodium chicken stock

    • ¼ cup heavy cream


    • Ziplock bag



    Prep the chicken breasts by seasoning them with salt and pepper. Then, one by one, place each breast inside a ziplock bag. Pound each chicken breast to your desired thickness or until ¼ in.

    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Coat each chicken breast with flour, salt, and pepper. You may also use ziplock bags to shake easily coat all the chicken breasts evenly.

    2. Fry the chicken breasts with olive oil and a little butter to brown each side. After frying, transfer the chicken to your oven-safe dish. Cover with aluminum foil and leave it in the oven.

    3. Keep the stove’s heat to medium. If there isn’t much oil left from frying the chicken breasts, add more butter. Brown your mushrooms until tender. Add the garlic for about 1 minute or until their juices are fragrant enough.

    4. Add the Marsala wine and scrape the bottom of the pan to remove any browned pieces. Add the broth and simmer until reduced by half and starting to thicken, about 15 minutes.

    5. Add the cream and cook the sauce until it thickens perfectly. Get the chicken from your oven and put it into the pan. Evenly coat each breast with the sauce. Let the whole thing cook more for about 2-3 minutes.

    6. With the baking dish you used for the chicken in the oven, you can now plate up. You may use angel hair pasta, cauliflower rice, or even a classic caesar salad to go with your Chicken Marsala.

    7. Garnish with parsley and lemon. Enjoy!

    These professional-grade food decorating markers can of course be used directly onto your freshly baked cookies. However, if you want them to have that eye-catching sheen, looking more like a bakery product, then you’ve got to try this easy recipe.


    What you’ll need:

    • Cut-out cookies to decorate

    Then, all you need to do is:

    1. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar and ¼ cup milk. With an electric mixer, blend until you get a nice smooth texture. Once you notice that it needs to smoothen a bit more, just add milk (do it one tablespoon at a time). Then add the corn syrup and almond extract, mix once more.

    2. If you want to decorate a cookie with colored icing, then simply use the liquid gel food coloring. Put one drop at a time and mix until you have reached your desired color.     3. Before decorating, you’ll need to divide your icing mixture into two parts. Make the first one in the consistency- of a toothpaste, and other in the consistency of a syrup or crepe batter. Put each in their respective squeeze bottles, just make sure you can distinguish one from the other.

    4. Start putting your cookies’ background icing. Using the squeeze bottle, outline each cookie with the thicker icing. Then right after, put the flood icing starting from the middle. It’s best that you do one cookie at a time so that both the outline and flood icing are still in its liquid form. This way, your background sugar icing will have a smooth finish when it dries up - that there’s no way to distinguish the outline from the flood icing.

    5. Now it’s time to get your creative juices flowing! With the food coloring pens with fine and wide tips, you can create all the designs and patterns you want, in all the colors that you want! You may even embellish them with candy, edible pearls, sprinkles, and more. After decorating, just lay them on a cookie sheet to dry up.


    A few tips:

    • The best part about using royal or sugar icing is that you need not be so keen about measurements and there’s less room for mistakes! The icing mixture itself will tell you what to do or what it’ll become. If it’s too runny, just add more powdered sugar. If it’s too thick, you can add more milk or even water. Then if you want the icing to dry more quickly, you may add acid (like lemon juice or cream of tartar).

    • If you prefer to use vanilla extract instead of almond, you can also do that. However, just expect that your icing won’t be as white. So this is more recommended if you’re planning on making colored icing background anyway.

    • The icing will dry hard. So if you’re thinking of giving them away as presents for the holidays, don’t be afraid to stack them up so they’ll fit into cute little tins or boxes.

    You’ll need:

    Frankee Marshmallows on Sticks

    You’ll need:  

    These are not as easy as the cookie pops, but if you do have older kids, they’ll surely have fun making these Frankenstein Marshmallow Pops. First, cover each marshmallow with the fondant tinted with the green Chefmaster coloring gel. Careful not to ruin the marshmallow’s shape as this is the shape we’re really aiming for as Frankee’s head. Then, insert a stick in each covered marshmallow. Now, melt the semisweet chocolate chips in the microwave under medium heat until they’re smooth (but not too liquid-y though). Dip each end of the marshmallow into the chocolate to form the hair. While still holding the stick upside down (remember not to hold the pop in the right way while the chocolate hasn’t hardened yet as it will drip and may cover the whole face), gently push or drag the chocolate down to the base so you can create spikes of hair. Put the marshmallows with ‘hair’ back in the fridge so the chocolate will harden enough. You may lay them still upside down on wax paper. While waiting, prepare the things you’ll use to form Frankee’s facial features. Cut up the pretzel sticks into ⅛ in sizes. Set aside the candy eyeballs. And prepare your edible coloring pens. Once the marshmallow pops are all set, you can already place the cut-out pretzels as ears, put the candy eyeballs, and complete Frankee’s face by simply drawing on the marshmallow using the food coloring markers.

    Know any kid who doesn’t like pizza? Well we sure don’t. So we know that once you lay out the veggies on top of the regular pizza, there’s still a chance that your kid will just take the veggies out before eating it. So, make it into a pizza roll-up!


    • Mina pizza dough or tortilla

    • Your favorite marinara or pizza sauce

    • Eggplant, thinly sliced

    • Diced tomatoes or Sliced Cherry tomatoes

    • Pepperoni

    • Basil leaves

    • Fresh Spinach

    • Mozzarella Cheese

    • Parmesan Cheese

    • Butter, melted

    Cook your marinara or pizza sauce, then once it’s almost done, put the basil leaves and diced tomatoes. Don’t try to smash or crush the tomatoes. Set aside. Lay out your dough or tortilla. Spread the sauce. Lay the thin eggplant slices first and put a pepperoni on each. Put some spinach leaves. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Generously put mozzarella cheese on top. Now roll the pizza, secure it with cute toothpicks. Brush each roll-up with butter then quickly roll in parmesan cheese.

    Cheezy-V Burritos

    If your picky eater doesn’t really like tacos because of the lettuce, onions, and tomatoes that are so out there, then here’s the recipe that’ll change their mind about eating Mexican favorites.


    • Whole wheat tortillas

    • Lean ground beef

    • Taco Seasoning

    • Cooked rice, optional (if you think your kids like rice in their burritos)

    • Cooked pinto beans

    • Chopped yellow and green bell peppers

    • Chopped onions

    • Chopped tomatoes

    • Finely shredded lettuce

    • Olive oil

    • Mozzarella, Cheddar, Jack Cheese

    In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Remove all the excess oil. Add in the onions and green peppers in olive oil until they’re tender. Add the cooked beans. Mix in the cooked rice and put enough taco seasoning. Mix well. Lay each tortilla flat then spread the mixture from the center outwards, leaving about ¼ from the edge. Place the tomatoes and shredded lettuce preferably in the inner center part. Sprinkle with the 3 cheeses. Roll up the burrito. Then, seam side down, put a burrito in each compartment of the stainless steel taco holders. You may sprinkle more cheese on top of each burrito. Put in the oven and bake for just about 10-15 mins. Serve with fun dips like guacamole, sour cream, and nacho cheese.



    Deep Fried BBC Bombs

    BBC stands for Bacon-Broccoli-Cheese. Sounds like a fun and tasty combination, right? But if your kiddo’s not a fan of those green flower-like veggies, then this is the perfect food to make! If it’s cheesy, has bacon, and deep fried, they’ll definitely love it!


    • Melted butter

    • Pre-made refrigerated biscuit dough (can be bought in grocery stores)

    • Broccoli florets, blanched (may be sliced into smaller pieces if you want)

    • Shredded Cheese (sharp cheddar or cheddar blend)

    • Chopped bacon, cooked (fried until crispy)

    • Italian seasoning

    • Salt and pepper

    • Parmesan cheese

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. With a rolling pin or just your hands, flatten the dough into 4-inch rounds. Place a few pieces of broccoli, about 2 tablespoons of cheese, and bacon in the center. Wrap the dough around it and press the edges to make sure they’re sealed well. Shape them just like bread sticks or chicken fingers so that later on, they’ll be easier to handle. In a baking pan or tray, line each one side by side.

    Then, a small bowl, whisk butter with italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Brush on top. Sprinkle generously with parmesan cheese. Put in the oven and bake for about 16-18 minutes until golden brown.

    You’ll need:

    • 500 milliliters milk

    • 2 sprigs fresh thyme

    • 1 bay leaf

    • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • 65 grams butter (plus extra for greasing)

    • 55 grams plain flour

    • 1 pinch mustard powder (English)

    • 5 cage free eggs (separated)

    • salt

    • black pepper (freshly ground)

    • 2 tablespoons fresh chives (chopped)

    • 110 grams gruyere cheese (AOP, very finely grated)

    • 300 milliliters double cream

    • 150 grams bacon (heavily cured, finely chopped)

    • 6 slices streaky bacon (very thin)

    1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the milk in a saucepan, add the thyme, bay leaf and nutmeg, and bring to a simmer. Turn off the heat and leave to infuse for a few minutes. While the milk is infusing, generously grease six ramekins.

    2. Heat a frying pan until hot, add the olive oil and bacon and cook until the bacon is crisp. Remove and place on a plate lined with kitchen paper to drain all the fat

    3. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour and mustard powder. Combine and cook for a couple of minutes until a nutty aroma is released

    4. Strain the infused milk, pour it slowly into the saucepan containing the flour and mustard and whisk continuously until thick. Separate the eggs, keeping both the yolks and the whites. Then beat the egg yolks into the sauce and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Allow to cool slightly

    5. Whisk the egg whites in a clean bowl until firm, adding a pinch of salt. Then add one-third of the egg whites to the soufflé base mix and beat in. Fold in the chives then carefully fold in the remaining egg whites

    6. Spoon the mixture into the buttered ramekins and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the tops begin to brown. Remove from the oven and set aside

    7. Preheat the grill to high. Meanwhile, warm the double cream in a saucepan and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Increase the temperature and cook until the volume of liquid has reduced by one third. Add the crispy bacon to the cream and mix well. If needed, add some more salt and pepper.

    8. Pour the cream into six serving bowls and turn the gruyère and bacon soufflés out onto the cream. Cover the soufflés with the grated gruyère cheese and place under the grill. Once golden-brown and bubbling, remove from the grill.

    9. Fry or bake thin bacon strips then garnish. Serve and enjoy!

    Steak and White Cheddar Egg Souffles

    Give brunch or early dinner an entirely new meaning for you and your S.O. with these fancy but light souffles. They’re savoury and satisfying; but most of all, you can easily make these in your own kitchen!

    Get a hold of these ingredients to make this::

    • 5 eggs

    • 2 tablespoons half-and-half

    • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (Coarse)

    • 1 shallot (diced)

    • 2 garlic cloves (minced)

    • 1/4 cup chives (chopped)

    • 2 cups sharp white cheddar cheese

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    • 2/3 pound round steak (beef, finely chopped)

    • 1 roll dough (Pillsbury Crescent)

    1. In a medium saute pan on medium heat, heat the olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped steak and cook until cooked, about 5-10 minutes. Remove the steak from the pan.

    2. Leaving the remaining drippings and oil in the pan, add the shallots and cook until soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Return the steak back to the pan and reduce heat on low-medium.

    3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, and heavy cream. Add the salt and pepper as well. Pour the egg mixture into the pan with the steak mixture. Allow the eggs to scramble slightly, only 2-3 minutes. The eggs should be slightly scrambled but still runny. Remove from heat and set aside.

    4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and butter 4 ramekins and set them on a large baking sheet.

    5. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and cut into four squares (large enough to cover the ramekins and with some of the dough hanging from the edges) . Place the dough over the ramekins and press the bottom into the pan and along the sides. Sprinkle ¼ cup of white cheddar cheese into the bottom of the pans. Take a large mixing spoon, fill the ramekins with one scoop of the egg mixture and top off with ¼ cup of cheese and sprinkle the chives on top. Fold the flaps of the dough on top of the souffle and bake for 15 minutes until edges are golden brown. Allow to cool, remove from pan, and serve.


    Baileys Chocolate Soufflé with Cream Anglaise

    What’s a romantic meal without a fancy dessert? So to level up the much-expected chocolate souffle, give it a nice twist with the Bailey’s Irish Cream. With this mouth-watering dessert amped up with a lil boozy, you’ll surely get your passionate evening started!

    TO MAKE The Baileys Chocolate Souffle:

    • ½ cup milk

    • ¼ cup + 6 tbsp sugar

    • 2 tsp cornstarch

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    • 5 oz dark chocolate, chopped

    • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

    • ¼ cup Bailey’s® Irish Cream liqueur

    • 10 egg whites at room temperature ½ tsp cream of tartar

    1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly butter 6-1 cup soufflé or other 1 cup baking dishes. Sprinkle the inside of the ramekin cups with sugar and tap out any excess. Place the baking dishes onto a baking tray.

    2. Whisk the milk, ¼ cup of the sugar, the cornstarch and vanilla in a small dish and set aside.

    3. Melt the chocolate and butter in a small sauce pot over low heat, stirring constantly until melted.Stir in the milk mixture in 2 additions, whisking until evenly blended (the mixture will be a thick paste and may look a little grainy, but that is to be expected – it will smooth out after the whites are folded in) Stir in the Bailey’s® and keep the chocolate paste warm over low heat, stirring occasionally, transfer the warm chocolate to a large bowl.

    4. Whip the egg whites and cream of tartar until they are foamy then slowly pour in the remaining 6 tbsp of sugar and continue to whip until the whites hold a medium peak when the beaters are lifted. Fold in a third of the whites into the warm chocolate and quickly but gently fold them in – they will deflate quite a bit, but that’s expected. Fold in the remaining two thirds of the batter until incorporated then pour this into the prepared soufflé dishes

    5. Bake the soufflés for 10 to 12 minutes until the tops take on a dull look, but the inside still looks shiny and soft where a crack may form. Serve the souffles in the ramekins.

    FOR THE Creme Anglaise (you may want to make this ahead of time):

    • 125ml heavy cream

    • 125ml milk

    • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

    • 3 egg yolks

    • ½ tsp vanilla

    In small saucepan, heat together cream, milk and 1 tbsp of the sugar over medium heat until bubbles form around the edge.

    In a bowl, whisk egg yolks with remaining sugar; whisk in hot cream mixture in thin stream. Stir back into pan; cook, stirring constantly, until thick enough to coat spoon, 2 to 3 minutes.

    Strain into clean bowl; stir in vanilla.

    Place plastic wrap directly on surface; refrigerate until cold, at least 1 hour.


    PUT IT TOGETHER:  After baking the souffles, serve by putting some of the creme anglaise inside the souffle with a spoon through the crack on top. Arrange on a dessert plate with some dark chocolate pastilles or dark chocolate chips. You may also serve more of the creme anglaise on the side. Enjoy!

    Easy Goat Cheese Marinara Dip

    • 2 tbsp olive oil

    • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced

    • 1 tsp dried oregano

    • 1 onion, minced

    • 28-oz can crushed tomatoes

    • ½ tsp dried basil

    • 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

    • 12 oz goat cheese

    • Parmesan cheese



    Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9-inch oven-safe skillet with nonstick cooking spray. In a medium pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté over medium heat until translucent, 4 to 5 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, 1 minute more. Stir in the tomatoes and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Stir in the oregano and basil, and season with salt and pepper. Simmer until good flavor develops, 10 to 15 minutes. Spread the goat cheese into an even layer in the prepared skillet. Spoon ¾ cup of the prepared marinara sauce over the goat cheese. Sprinkle with parmesan. Bake until the marinara is bubbly and the parmesan cheese is bubbly or a bit toasted, 10 to 15 minutes.


    Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip

    • 4 oz. (half a block) reduced-fat (or fat-free) cream cheese, softened

    • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

    • 1 cup shredded part-skim Mozzarella cheese

    • 1/2 cup hot sauce

    • 1/2 cup crumbled light blue cheese

    • 1 Tbsp. ranch seasoning (optional)

    • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken


    Stir all ingredients together in a medium saucepan until combined over medium-low heat. Continue heating for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cheese is melted and the dip is simmering. Remove and serve immediately.

    Feta and Sun-dried Tomato Dip

    GREAT FOR:  pretzel crisps, bagel chips, crostinis


    • 4 oz crumbled Feta cheese

    • 1 cup low fat Greek yogurt

    • 2 tbsp olive oil

    • ½ cup oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, drained and chopped

    • salt and pepper


    In a medium bowl, mash together the Feta, yogurt, and oil until mostly smooth. Mix in the sun-dried tomatoes and season with ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon pepper. Serve immediately.

    Honestly, who wouldn’t love a completely satisfying yet nutritious meal with bacon and cheese? And what makes this even better is that it keeps you stay on your keto diet - low in carbohydrates and tad bit more on fat, but still just on the right amount of calories you need.

    Here are the ingredients:

    • 1 large head cauliflower, cut into florets

    • 2 tbsp. butter

    • 1 cup heavy cream

    • 2 oz. cream cheese

    • 1 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, separated

    • Salt and pepper to taste

    • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

    • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

    Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then, in a large pot of boiling water, blanch cauliflower florets for 2 mins; drain to dry. In a medium pot, melt together butter, heavy cream, cream cheese, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper until well-combined.

    In a baking dish, add cauliflower florets, cheese sauce, all but 1 tbsp. crumbled bacon, and all but 1 tbsp. green onions. Stir together. Top with remaining shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and green onions.

    Bake until cheese is bubbly and golden and cauliflower is soft, about 30 minutes. Now slice a portion enough for the largest compartment of your bento lunch meal container. Then save the rest for another day by simply putting it in the fridge.

    Here are the ingredients:

    • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts

    • 8 slices nitrate free bacon sugar free, chopped into smaller pieces

    • 1/2 cup homemade mayo or Paleo friendly mayo

    • 2 scallions green onions, thinly sliced

    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

    • salt and pepper to taste

    • Lettuce or other leafy greens (optional)

    Brown the bacon in a large saute pan over med-hi heat. Once they’re nice and crisp, remove from the pan and set aside to drain excess oil on paper towels. Don’t remove the rendered fat in the pan. Turn down the heat to medium. Pound the chicken breasts to ½ inch thickness. Sprinkle with garlic powder then salt and pepper. Fry each side for about 2-3 minutes. When it’s cooked, set it aside or put it in the fridge to cool.

    Now just in case you’re in the mood to do your very own Paleo mayo, you can do it now while waiting for the chicken to cool down. In a tall container, put in 1 whole large egg, 2 tsp fresh lemon juice, 2 tsp spice brown mustard, ¼ tsp salt, and ¾ cup light tasting olive oil or avocado oil. Put your immersion blender down to the bottom of the container before turning on. Then set it to high and blend for about 30 seconds before slowly lifting it to the surface of the mixture, and blend another 20 seconds or so or until completely creamy.

    Get your chicken breast and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Then in a large bowl, toss together the bacon, chicken breast, scallions, and mayo. Season with salt and pepper if preferred. And top it on some lettuce to make it even healthier.


    VEGAN:  Lentil Bolognese Spaghetti

    To create a veggie pasta is a sure-fire way to easily make you full and at the same time fuel you up for the rest of your day.  This hearty and satisfying dish will not only be great for lunch box meals but also for chill weekend nights because this recipe is so easy to make.

    Here are the things you’ll need:

    • 1 pack of spaghetti

    • 1 tbsp olive oil

    • 1/2 red onion, diced

    • 1/4 cup of carrots, diced

    • 1/4 cup of zucchini diced

    • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

    • 1 - 398 ml can of Italian stewed tomatoes

    • 1 can of lentils

    • 1 - 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes

    • 1 tsp basil

    • 1/2 tsp oregano

    • 1/2 tsp onion powder

    • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

    • 1/2 tsp sugar (or another type of sweetener if you prefer it healthier)

    • salt and pepper

    Cook pasta first. While you wait for the water to boil, you may already start making the bolognese sauce. Under medium high heat, saute the onions and garlic for a couple of minutes. Cook the carrots first. After about 3-4 minutes, add the zucchini and wait some more until the veggies are nice and soft (not too mushy though).

    Now add the can of stewed tomatoes. Reduce the heat to medium and wait until the liquid is reduced. Lower the heat to low and add the crushed tomatoes along with your spices. Simmer for an additional 6 minutes or so. Keep tasting until you get it right according to your liking. Remove from direct heat and let it cool before packing.

    • 4 tablespoons fat (coconut oil, ghee, etc.), divided

    • ½ medium onion, finely diced

    • 3 garlic cloves, minced

    • ½ pound cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced

    • ½ pound frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry

    • 8 large eggs

    • ¼ cup coconut milk (the fatty stuff at the top of the can works best)

    • 2 tablespoons coconut flour

    • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

    • 5 ounces Prosciutto di Parma

    • Kosher salt

    • Freshly ground pepper

    • regular 12 cup muffin tin

    Prep all the veggies and preheat your oven to 375°F. Heat half of the coconut oil over medium heat in a large cast iron skillet and sautéed the onions until soft and translucent. Add in garlic and mushrooms until fully rendered. Season with salt and pepper then put into a bowl to cool. Set aside.

    In large bowl, beat the eggs with coconut milk, flour, salt, and pepper. Add in the sauteed mushrooms and spinach. Mix everything well.

    Brush the remainder of the coconut oil into the muffin tray. Line each cup with prosciutto well, enough to cover the sides and bottom completely. Spoon the frittata batter onto each cup and top with the cherry tomato halves. Bake for about 20 minutes and rotating the tray at 180 degrees at halfway point.

    Remember to let the frittatas cool down on a wire rack before putting inside the fridge or packing it in your ready-to-go meal containers.


    Chicken parmesan pizza casserole

    If you’re just a sucker for anything Italian, then you would surely love this recipe! Combining the essence of all three Italian favorites (chicken/eggplant parmesan, pizza, lasagna), but most of all, it’s low-carb and gluten-free. So who wouldn’t want to bring this yummy delight for lunch? This may require a little bit more effort from you; but because you’re going to make this ahead, you can easily get portions for your daily meal and just keep it safe in the fridge for the next.

    Prepare these ingredients to make this awesome dish:

    • 3 long and slim eggplant Asian variety was used

    • 4 chicken breast fillet 750 grams

    • 15 pieces pepperoni

    • 1 cup mozzarella freshly grated

    • 1 cup parmesan cheese shredded

    • 1/4 teaspoon ground sage

    • 1/4 teaspoon dried tarragon

    • 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram

    • salt and ground black pepper to taste

    • 1 large egg beaten

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • oil for frying

    • fresh parsley for garnishing

    Desiccated Coconut Mixture :

    • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut

    • 1/8 teaspoon ground sage

    • 1/8 teaspoon dried tarragon

    • 1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram

    • 1/8 teaspoon Spanish paprika

    • salt & ground black pepper to taste

    Tomato Mixture :

    • 14 ounces canned diced tomatoes

    • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese shredded

    • 1/8 teaspoon ground oregano

    • 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme

    • 1/8 teaspoon ground sage

    • 1/8 teaspoon dried tarragon

    • 1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram

    • 1 tsp sweetener optional

    Slice eggplant, 1 inch wide and 2 to 3 inches long. Season with salt and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Pat dry water, if any.

    Wash chicken with cold running water. Pat dry with paper towel. Make a cut/slice in between each fillet without separating – this is where you’ll stuff your eggplant later. Season with ¼ Tsp. sage, ¼Tsp. tarragon, ¼ Tsp. marjoram, salt and black pepper on both sides. Set aside.

    n a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, parmesan cheese, oregano, thyme, sage, tarragon, marjoram and sweetener (if using). Set aside.

    In a skillet with oil, fry eggplant until tender and slightly brown on both sides. Set aside.

    Season desiccated coconut with sage, tarragon, marjoram, spanish paprika, salt and ground black pepper. Dip chicken breast fillet in beaten egg and coat all sides with seasoned desiccated coconut.

    In the same skillet, add more oil for frying. Slightly brown chicken pieces for 2 minutes on each side. Make sure the oil is hot but not smoking. Transfer chicken to a plate with paper towel.

    Grease baking pan with olive oil. Spread a thin layer (about 5 tablespoons) of tomato mixture. Lay chicken breast fillet side by side. Stuff fried eggplant in each chicken breast fillet, about two slices per fillet. Spread the remaining eggplant around the baking pan. Spread tomato mixture generously on all chicken breast fillet. Sprinkle with parmesan and mozzarella. Top with pepperoni.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 375 F for 25 to 30 minutes until chicken has been cooked thoroughly while parmesan and mozzarella are completely melted and slightly golden brown. Sprinkle with fresh parsley, if desired.

    What you’ll need:

    • 150g leftover cooked roast beef (from inside round) or cooked steak

    • 2 cups mixed greens

    • 100g fresh shiitake mushrooms

    • 30g unripened soft goat cheese

    • 1-2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

    • Lime juice to taste

    • Pinch freshly cracked black pepper

    Slice the shiitake mushrooms and cook them in a non stick pan over medium high heat until nice and golden on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. While the mushrooms are cooking, slice the roast beef as thinly as you can; set aside.

    Place mixed greens at the bottom of a shallow plate. Arrange your slices of beef in the center of the pile of greens. Add shiitake mushrooms and soft goat cheese.

    Drizzle balsamic vinegar and lime juice to taste over the whole salad. Sprinkle with freshly cracked black pepper if desired.

    Preheat your oven to 400-425 degrees F. Lightly coat all the veggies with salt, pepper and some olive oil. You can even sprinkle some with parmesan cheese and basil if you want a bit more tasty. Lay out all the veggies in a sheet pan, then pop it in the oven.

    Get your leftover grilled/baked chicken. If all you’ve got are pure white meat, you can either slice them into strips, nuggets, or cubes, however you like them. But if what you have left are a variety of parts, then you can simply cut them into a tad bit smaller pieces. Put those in a bowl then add the Dijon mustard, milk or half & half, salt and pepper. Coat all the chicken parts well.

    Take out your veggies from the oven. Set aside. In a pan under low to medium heat, saute your garlic lightly in olive oil. Just toss the chicken in, put the remaining sauce/dressing if there’s any. Since the chicken are already cooked, just taste every now and then if the chicken has already absorbed the taste, and sauce has been reduced.

    Pack your chicken and veggies in the lunch meal containers. Let the steam/hot air out and don’t cover them yet if you’re not yet leaving the house.


    Cauliflower Beef Burrito Bowl

    OMMON PARTY LEFTOVERS:  Steak, roast beef, salads


    • Riced cauliflower (unless you prefer it raw, then you can simply grate some cauliflower)

    • 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed

    • 1 cup frozen corn kernels

    • 2 tablespoons water

    • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

    • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, divided

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro, divided

    • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from 2 to 3 medium limes)

    • 1 cup pico de gallo or salsa

    • 1 medium avocado, peeled, pitted, and slice

    Place the beans, corn, water, chili powder, cumin, and 1/4 teaspoon of the salt in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from the heat.

    Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large, high-sided skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add the riced cauliflower and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cauliflower is heated through and just tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from the heat. Add 1/4 cup of the cilantro and the lime juice, and stir to combine.

    Pack your cauliflower rice in the biggest compartment of the meal prep container or bento lunch box. Top with your bean and corn mixture, sliced beef, salsa or pico de gallo, avocado, and sprinkle with cheese (if you want).


    Asian Stir Fry Noodles

    COMMON PARTY LEFTOVERS:  any kind of meat - beef, chicken, or even pork, cooked noodles (spaghetti or fettuccine), some veggies


    • 1 cup sliced mushrooms

    • 3/4 cup chopped red bell peppers

    • 3/4 cup snow peas and green onions

    • 1.5 tablespoon peanut or other high heat oil

    • 1.5 tablespoon oyster sauce

    • 1.5 tablespoon soy sauce

    • 1.5 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

    • 1 tsp chili garlic sauce

    • 1.5 teaspoon cornstarch

    • 1 tablespoon water

    • dash of sesame oil

    • 2 cloves garlic

    If need be, reheat your noodles by blanching them in hot water. Quickly remove then set aside. Slice the meat into bite-sized pieces. Mix the chili garlic sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce and rice wine vinegar and set aside in a small bowl. Mix cornstarch with cold water and set aside.

    Heat a wok to high. Add oil to wok. Add minced garlic to oil and swirl briefly. Add vegetables and stir fry for 2 - 4 minutes (to desired doneness). Add sauce mixture. Continue to move veggies then add your noodles. When sauce mixture comes to a boil, add corn starch mixture. Cook until sauce is thickened.

    Add the meat, stir fry for another 2 minutes. Then add your oyster, soy and vinegar mix you have set aside earlier. Mix.

    Transfer to your lunch box or meal prep containers. Then you’re good to go!

    Holiday Desserts That'll Dazzle Your Buffet Table

    ‘Tis the season for gift-giving and binge-eating! While every family has their own traditional holiday menus, there is never a Christmas table without desserts. But if you want to take your buffet table up a notch this year, all you need is the California Home Goods Ramekin Dessert Cups plus these awesome recipes, and your holiday table will dazzle up like never before:


    Eggnog Cream Pie

    Eggnogs are a Christmas staple. But because you’re determined to take this year’s dessert menu to a different level, then show your skills by making it into this decadent holiday pie:

    For the crust, you’ll need:

    • 1 sleeve (200 g) graham crackers

    • ½ tsp salt

    • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

    • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar

    • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

    For the eggnog cream filling, you’ll need:

    • 1 (370 mL) can evaporated milk or store-bought eggnog

    • 1 cup whole milk (3.25%)

    • ½ cup whipping cream (35%)

    • ¼ tsp salt

    • ½ tsp ground nutmeg

    • 2 tsp powdered gelatin

    • ¼ cup cornstarch

    • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract

    • ½ tsp rum or rum extract (optional)

    For the whipping cream, you’ll need:

    • 1 cup whipping cream (35%)

    • 1 Tbsp rum or 1/2 tsp rum extract

    • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar

    Start by making the crust. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Then in a food processor, pulse crackers, salt, cinnamon, sugar, and butter until fully combined. Reserve 3 Tbsp for garnish. Firmly press remaining crust into the bottom of your baking ramekins. Bake for 5-7 minutes while constantly checking. Cool completely.

    To make the eggnog filling, whisk all filling ingredients together in a medium saucepan until well combined. Whisking constantly, cook over medium heat, until mixture is boiling, 5 to 10 minutes. Once boiling, continue whisking and cook for 30 seconds. Chill. After chilling, whisk filling again until smooth and lump-free; pour into prepared crust and smooth out evenly. Bake at 350ºF for 7-8 minutes.

    While chilling the filling, begin rum whipped cream. In a stand mixer or by hand with a whisk, beat 1 cup whipping cream, rum and sugar until medium-firm peaks form. Spoon whipped cream over filling and garnish with reserved crust crumbles. Serve chilled. Let them enjoy directly from the lovely ramekins.


    Red Velvet Molten Lava Cup

    Red is the color of love but it isn’t just for Valentine’s. Put some oozing red goodness onto that holiday table of yours and spread the love by making these!

    • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate

    • 1 1/4 cup unsalted butter

    • 2 cups white sugar

    • 4 large eggs

    • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

    • 1 1/2 teaspoons Red Velvet Bakery Emulsion

    • 1 teaspoon red food coloring

    • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

    • a pinch of salt

    • *non-stick cooking spray

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray 8 small custard cups with non-stick spray.

    Add butter and chocolate to a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute.

    Stir butter and chocolate together, and microwave in 30 second intervals until chocolate is melted. Stir in sugar until smooth. Add eggs, beat them in. Add flour, and Red Velvet Bakery Emulsion and red food coloring then stir until just combined.

    Spoon batter into prepared ramekin cups.

    Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until the sides are firm but the centers are still soft, but not jiggly.

    Let cool for 2 minutes, then gently loosen cakes from custard cups by sliding a knife around the edges of each cake. Turn cakes over onto serving plates, and garnish as desired - you may want to put, strawberries or cherries then sprinkle with powdered sugar. Or you may scoop some vanilla ice cream and sprinkle it with syrup. Do as you please.


    Mini Holiday Cheesecakes

    Cheesecakes are definitely an all-occasion indulgence. So if you and your family are such fans of this all-time favorite dessert, make some in mini holiday versions that to make a prettier buffet table!

    • 1 ¼ cup (300 mL) Graham cracker crumbs

    • ¼ cup (60 mL) butter, melted

    • 3 pkg (250 g each) Canadian Cream cheese, softened

    • 1 cup (250 mL) sugar

    • 3 eggs

    • 2 tsp (10 mL) vanilla extract

    • 1 ½ cup (375 mL) sour cream

    • 3 Tbsp (45 mL) sugar

    • Fresh fruits or berries

    Double-line your ramekins with paper liners. In small bowl, combine cracker crumbs and butter. Press about 1 tbsp (15 mL) of mixture onto bottom of each cup. Press hard.

    In large mixer bowl, beat Canadian Cream cheese until light and fluffy; gradually beat in the 1 cup (250 mL) of sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in 1 tsp (5 mL) of the vanilla extract and 1/2 cup (125 mL) of the sour cream. Divide mixture among prepared ramekin cups. Bake in 325 °F (160 °C) oven for about 15-20 minutes.

    Combine remaining 1 cup (250 mL) sour cream, the 3 tbsp (45 mL) of sugar and remaining, 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract; spread over cheesecake cups. Bake 5 minutes longer. Cool in pan on wire rack. Chill. Remove cheesecakes from cups and top with fresh fruits or berries. Sprinkle with icing sugar or chocolate syrup.


    Bailey’s Chocolate Pretzel Sundae

    If you’re a fan of easy-breezy desserts that doesn’t skimp on the visual appeal, then buy a bottle of Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur and whip up this dessert that’ll simply make everyone in your holiday party a lot more merry!

    • 4 scoops ice cream (French vanilla or your favourite flavour)

    • 4 oz Baileys Original Irish Cream

    • A handful of chocolate covered pretzels (plus your favourite toppings like sprinkles, marshmallows, rice puffs, or even crushed candy canes– be creative!)

    Place 2 or 3 scoops of ice cream in a nice ramekin. Pour the Baileys Original Irish Cream over the ice cream. Break up the chocolate covered pretzels and put over the ice cream. Finish by sprinkling your other toppings. Serve immediately!

    Moana Fruity Delight (Luau, Summer, Beach themes)

    • 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream

    • 1/2 cup of whole milk

    • 1/2 cup diced ripe cantaloupe

    • 1/4 cup raspberries

    • 4 to 5 raspberries, mint leaves and melon slices to decorate

    • Sugar syrup

    Place the ice cream, milk, cantaloupe and raspberries into your blender and process until smooth. Give it a taste and sweeten if desired. Pour contents into the glass bottles and garnish with the mint leaves, melon slices and additional raspberries.


    Frozen Hot Chocolate (Retro Soda Shoppe, Diner, Chocolate Factory themes)

    • 6 fluid ounces milk

    • 1⁄2 cup hot cocoa mix (or 2 packets of e.g. Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate flavor)

    • 1 1⁄2-2 cups crushed ice cubes

    • whipped cream

    • additional hot cocoa mix

    • Toppings

    Pour milk into blender. Add hot cocoa mix and ice. Blend first at low speed and then high speed until ice is finely crushed and slushy. Pour into the glass drinking party bottles and top with whipped cream and a dusting of hot cocoa mix, and other toppings that the kids will like. Serve with the straws.


    Unicorn Milkshakes (Unicorn, Carnival, Rainbow, Candyland themes)

    • 10 oz strawberry-coconut ice cream (5 large scoops)

    • 1 cup strawberries fresh or frozen

    • ½ cup International Delight Creamer can substitute milk

    • ½ cup fruity miniature marshmallows

    • ¼ cup vanilla frosting

    • ½ cup assorted sprinkles

    • Whipped cream

    • Decorative toppings (lollipops, rock candy, wafer, cookies, sour rainbow belts, etc)

    Combine the ice cream, strawberries, and White Chocolate Macadamia International Delight Creamer in a blender, and blend until smooth and creamy.

    Snip the miniature marshmallows in half. Press the cut half of one marshmallow on the inside of a 10-oz glass, pressing firmly so that it sticks. Continue to add marshmallow “polka dots” inside the glass bottle. (You may use a BBQ stick if your fingers won’t allow you to put more dots.

    Spread a thin layer of vanilla frosting around the top rim of each drinking bottle. Roll the frosting in sprinkles until the edge of the cup is entirely covered.

    Divide the milkshake between the cups. Top each cup with whipped cream, and add a big pinch of sprinkles to the top of the whipped cream.

    Add fun by topping colorful decorations like swirled lollipops, rock candy sticks, sour rainbow belts, wafer cookies, and unicorn straws.


    Caramel Popcorn Freakshake (Harry Potter, Movie Sleepover themes)

    • 50g of dark chocolate

    • 200ml of double cream

    • 350g of ice cream, salted caramel flavour

    • 250ml of milk

    • 100g of peanut butter

    • 25g of peanuts, salted and roasted

    • 25g of caster sugar

    • 1 handful of caramel popcorn

    • 25g of fudge

    • 3 peanut butter cups

    Melt 50g of the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water, remove from the heat and whisk in 100ml of double cream to make a smooth, glossy ganache. Transfer to a squeezy bottle or piping bag.

    Heat the sugar in a small saucepan until it begins to caramelise. Stir in the peanuts to coat in the caramel then transfer to a tray and leave to cool.

    Place the ice cream, half of the peanut butter and the milk in a blender and blitz until smooth. Line the inside of a glass with the chocolate ganache and pour in the milkshake. Add a large scoop of ice cream on top. Whip the remaining cream to stiff peaks and transfer to a piping bag with a star nozzle.

    Spread the peanut butter around the rim of the glass then pipe over a thick layer of double cream. Pile the popcorn, caramelised peanuts and fudge on top of the cream.

    Thread the peanut butter cups onto a wooden skewer and add to the glass bottle.
